Wait What?????? Did they seriously just start a whole new arc after beating the bad guy and taking away Ichigo's powers, not to mention his ability to even see the hollows/shinigami???

Of course they did.  Did you really expect a series as popular as Bleach to be cancelled?  Even if Kubo had wanted to end it, I doubt SJ's editorial department would have let him.

Well they had to take his powers so that they could introduce a new bad guy, because when he beat Aizen, Ichigo was god-like in strength. But it's not surprising that there is a new arc.

I really can't understand how Ichigo could still see that "medal" thing. It made of reishi from Soul Society, not real wood.

I dont see the point in him getting his shinigami powers back though. He will have to unlock new powers otherwise the whole bit has been a waste of time.

Maybe he was one of the many "kings" of an elite group. There hasnt been much hint as to what he is going to do with the story. Except maybe his constant displaying that Ichigo still has his reflexs and combat abilities.
