It was kind of implied that they did get to fight eachother, they took out Yami because he was interfering with their ability to fight.

Not necessarily, it looked as though just incompacitating Yami was all they could handle.

I suppose what went on in Hueco Mundico is something that is only speculation considering how little evidence there is either way.
