From my western perspective i could say that the muslim religion promotes sexist viewpoints and stereotypes.

But where does the line between respecting one's relgion and recognising human rights violations begin and end?

Western Muslims just aint the same as Eastern Muslims. (Generally and IMO). My muslim friends are so relaxed, they drink, party and date but they reckon if they did that in their home country, things wouldnt go down so well

Well, I partied and dates, but I don't drink. Since drinking is literally forbidden in the religion. And going to party is fine, as long as you don't drink^^ or at least, that's my definition

Well, some muslims are like that, and it's also recommended for man not to touch a woman unless she is his child/wife. But still, making an article of that is... absurd indeed.

Anyway, another question is raised is how much of your culture can you bring or enforce into other cultures.
The biggest example here is with France and the Burka, do they continue to respect the religious beliefs of that culture or should they be allowed to ban it under the idea that it breaches Human Rights violations?

So how much of your culture can you bring into another country? aka if it was in my culture to beat my kids, should i be allowed to do it in a country where it is illegal? Controversial stuff~

Yes, I don't compare all Muslims.

But Michelle Obama is not the issue here, it's the Muslim regretting and overreacting to a handshake, they could've just bowed, resisted, and back away. But I do know in that situation you can't disappoint the first lady.

I personally find some religions to be absurd (e.g. norse mythology or ancient greek/roman) however, Christianity is not and as for those who say that it is, I would like you to present me some arguments based in scripture or in the practices of the Church.
note: when I say practices of the Church, I do not mean the evil bastards who manage to con their way into priesthood and hurt little kids, they give a bad name to all Christians.

But the problem wasnt the pedohile preists. The problem, was the church SHUFFLED the pedophile preists around the parishes, in order to stifle and avoid prosecution by the police. They were trying to COVER UP the issue.


Here is something else that i find absurd. Homosexuals. What is wrong with being a homosexual, or doing homosexual acts? I find nothing sinful about it, anymore than being female is sinful, because this is regarding someones nature.


And then we have the stories in the bible, that are horribly absurd and immoral. We have kids who taunt a preist, and the preist curses them, and God sends down BEARS to SLAUGHTER the kids, for TAUNTING a preist. What sort of bizarro world do we live in, when the punishment for making fun of someone, is being mauled and slaughtered by a bear?


Add to that, the Abraham story, which is even MORE absurd. Abraham is asked by God to test his faith and sacrifice his oldest son. What is Abrahams response? Does he say "No, that is immoral, and my God is a Just and Good and Moral God, and therefore would NEVER ask me to sacrifice my own Son. Clearly you are a demon in disguise of God, and are trying to fool me into doing something immoral. Nice try."

I mean, how the HELL are you supposed to tell the difference between God and the Devil? If it was Satan who told Abraham to do this, and Abraham went through with it, EVERYONE would be saying to abraham, "You GODDAMN RETARD. Did you EVER think God would EVER ask this of you? Clearly this could ONLY be asked by a DEMENTED, EVIL Entity trying to torment you".

I would ask you to provide the book and line in which the priest taunting story occured.

Romans 1 24-36 clearly state that HOMOSEXUALITY is wrong, however, Christians have no trouble with homosexuals themselves, I actually have sevral friends who are homosexual. Also, homosexual is not a natural thing, it is an active choice that somebody makes or is raised into believing is acceptable or right.

As for the story of abraham, God made sure that Abram DIDN'T sacriice his eldest son by sending down an angel to stop him. It was a test by God who came to Abraham and spoke to him personally to assure that abraham didn't mistake him for the devil and, by the way, Abraham did ask for proof that it was God and not satan, proof that God provided. Finally, Abraham and his wife were over 100 years old when they had a child, who was a gift from God when it should not have been physically possible for them to have children, so the child belonged to God in the first place.
