No, when he first showed up and was using his dynamite, even in the anime he used his cigerettes to light them. Once the Varia and Future arc occurred he didn't need to do it anymore.

Nope, you're thinking of the manga. I just checked the episode when he fights Tsuna and his dynamites light up by themselves...

Let's not only blame the english dubs, the original version cut several things as well, not only Gokudera's smoking, but Yamamoto's suicide attempt too which is character development and very important...

I'm not sure on wether to look forward to this or fear it, I mean for the past couple of years everytime I watch a good anime I always end up watch subs in the second half of the season. I mean I get bored with dubs really but I can't stand it when it's not done properly so I end up watching subs. Anyway to crack it down I can't wait to watch it dubbed, and then subbed if the VAs are super shitty.

I am pretty sure that dubing is used to get non-manga readers into manga and anime so that they can get a larger audiance, it's how I got into it. They are useful, but the poltline us usually crap compared to the manga and even subbed anime sometimes. It would be cheaper to make subbed anime, but they would probably have a smaller audiance then if they did dubbed anime thus they will make more money off of it.

well most dubbing companies are going under so and they're have been rumours about companies planning on subbing anime to save money, but I don't think they'll are subs in america so they may just end up wasting more money there. I know that Japan films get subbed and aired in the UK every couple of months, they seem to be popular right now since no one really wants a japanese actor with some american fucktard voicing over his lines, it tends to piss off every british person that watchs movies from japan I mean we love them subbed not dubbed, if your gonna dub something dub the anime at least then it's a little less obvious.

AG does bring up the best point. It's more cost effective to sub them and fans prefer subs anyways.

I don't even know why USA wants to dub the animes when people prefer subs, because from what I've heard and read from some people, reading it is too fast (like information above the subs) and they want to spend more time watching than reading the subs though. But I prefer subs more since japanese dubs sounds more original and better.

Those are just lazy people Deidre, and most of the time they are also the ones who complain about the voices not fitting the characters. I seriously hope they don't dub KHR, but if they do I hope 4Kids doesn't get it...
