Why You Want This Position:
I’ve been a fan of manga and anime ever since I was a little girl, since I grew up in a Chinese family and they didn’t want me to forget my Chinese (Doraemon was my Barney XD). I hate reading manga or anime subtitles that look like it has been thrown into an online translator and pasted onto the pages/screen, so I really would enjoy helping with the quality control (I get a little nervous tic when I see people misusing “its,” “it’s,” and “its’”). I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do, but I would like to help out as much as I can.
Your Time Available: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM, except on Mondays and Saturdays, and I’m free from 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM on Sundays. I firmly believe in the power of sleeping for at least 9 hours, and unfortunately, I have school to attend to :(
Experience: I’ve spent most of my life translating things – both written and spoken – for my parents from Chinese to English, so I know how important it is to proofread things without losing its core meaning. I can’t read Chinese though (or I’d apply as a translator too >_<). I usually end up getting assignments and essays shoved at me for peer proofreading stuff in English, and I’m a beta reader on fanfiction.net, so I get people asking me for proofreading and opinions on their fanfics as well (and between you and me, some of the grammar is horrific).

*Actually, I wanted to ask about the part about the snowstorm. Are you sure it was a snowstorm? I find it a little hard to believe that people were just walking around in a snowstorm “looking for romance.” I was wondering if it would just mean “snowing” in this scenario, but if translated directly, meant “snowstorm.”

*Also, would we have a copy of a scan or something to look at while proofreading this? I find it a bit easier to proofread if I knew what the context of the sentences was.

Please don't think I abandoned you... I have exams starting this week and going through next, so I won't be able to score your script until this weekend at least.

Hello and sorry for the very long wait. The main errors I see in here are punctuation related. Mostly unnecessary commas. Just remember that commas aren't needed all the time. Sometimes it may seem as though a pause is needed but it really isn't. Try reading the sentence through a few times, once with the pauses and once without the pauses. I still believe that you have what it takes and hopefully that tip helps a little. I would like you to try this script that was recently posted by Devil:
