What Field You Would Like To Be Positioned In: Proofreader for weekly chapters(I am not willing to do monthlies or 30+ page chapters) of just about any series but KHR/Reborn and Bakuman(they're the only IEM series that I read and would not like my reading experience to be spoiled.)
Why You Want This Position: Well, to be honest, I would like to brush up my skills as an editor. I am a total grammar freak and would like to use my obsession for manga scanlating.
Your Time Available: Around 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Monday-Thursday. On Saturday/Sunday, just about all day. I have no life, so I can slave away all my free time scanlating manga. :D
Experience: I am currently an editor for a fansub called "Anime-Destiny" subbing Toriko. The fansub that I'm in has two editors, and I'm not that experienced so my edited script gets looked over by the other editor, whom is more experienced than me.
Here is my application:
p.118
Niko: There's no cage in Polaris!
text: In fact, the story of Polaris is about how "the prince and the princess of the Ursa Minor accepted the arranged marriage and lived happily ever after." And that's all.
text: Yes. What intervened in this story was my "imagnation."
Fran: ...The conclusion ought to be the same.
Sfx: Rustling.
text: However, it's you too that's being deceptive. You're talking about your "imagination" since you also have your favorable storyline of "She chose on her own to stay by her love."
p.119
Niko: You're a liar!!
text: Aah, why does this child look straight at me with those kind of eyes?
Niko: You deceived me!! / You're awful!
text: As if I'm wrong.
Sfx: Breathe in.
Fran: Yes.
Fran: Maybe it's a lie // I thought it would be nice if it was like that.
p.120
text: However, I didn't deceive you. That is to say, it was stories that are told for the purpose of entertaining people...
text: The truth of fiction is almost helpless before "imagination". As for this world, everything is about fact based on evidence.
Fran: It doesn't matter whether it's true or false. Since it's you who decides if my story was true / You should just accept that if it was interesting.
text: Well, without evidence, even history and fact could become fiction. / I'm only saying that it's more fun if there's room for intervention.
p.121
Fran: That's why the listeners also decide on what truth their own hearts want.
text: "Cage of Polaris". / This cage is made up of a thought called "me". This would also be the truth for people who are happy with being locked in a cage.
Fran: You too.
p.122
Fran: Don't you think that freedom of speech and pleasantness lie in there?
Niko: ...
Niko: Niko doesn't understand the difficult stuff, though... / I do understand one thing!
Fran: What is it?
Niko: That you're a pervert!!!!
Sfx: Smile.
Fran: Yes, that's correct. I'm glad that you got it right.
p.123
Fran: --Aah, it's about time for me to go. Otherwise it will be too dark
Niko: ...
