silverdragondx_2000@yahoo.comWhat Field You Would Like To Be Positioned In: Proofreader
Why You Want This Position: I've worked with scanlations before, and I like it. Also, I think proofreading would take less time than cleaning, which is what I used to do.
Your Time Available: Just weekends and weekday nights because of school. May have less time available when I have major projects or exams.
Experience: As a proofreader: none, but English is the primary language of instruction here, so I'm pretty good with English. With scanlations in general: I used to do cleaning and typesetting.
Preliminary Test:
p.118
Niko: Cages don’t exist in Polaris!
text: In fact, the story of Polaris is about how "the prince and the princess of the Ursa Minor accepted the arranged marriage and lived happily ever after." That's all.
text: Yes. What intervened in this story was my "imagination".
Fran: ...The conclusion ought to be the same.
Sfx: Rustling.
text: However, you too are being deceptive. You're talking about your "imagination" since you too have your favorite story line of, "She chose, on her own, to stay by her love".
p.119
Niko: You’re a liar!!
text: Aah, why does this child look at me with those kind of eyes?
Niko: You tricked me!! / You're awful!
text: As if I'm wrong.
Sfx: Breathe in
Fran: Yes.
Fran: Maybe it's a lie. // I thought it would be nice if it were like that.
p.120
text: However, I didn't deceive you. That is to say, it was stories that are told for the purpose of entertaining people...
text: The truth of fiction is almost helpless before "imagination". As for this world, everything is about fact based on evidence
Fran: It doesn't matter whether it's true or false, since it’s you who decides if my story is true. / You should just accept that if it was interesting.
text: Well, without evidence, even history and fact could become fiction. / I'm only saying that it's more fun if there’s room for intervention.
p.121
Fran: That's also why the listener has to decide on what truth their own hearts want.
text: "Cage of Polaris" / This cage is made up of thoughts called "me". This would also be the truth for people who are happy being locked in a cage.
Fran: You too.
p.122
Fran: Don't you think that freedom of speech and pleasantness lie in there?
Niko: ...
Niko: I don't understand those difficult stuff, though... / I understand one thing!
Fran: What is it?
Niko: That you're a pervert!!!
Sfx: Smile.
Fran: Yes, that's correct. I'm glad that you got it right.
p.123
Fran: --Aah, it's about time for me to go, otherwise it will be too dark
Niko: ...
