If there are any Soul Eater fans out there who are just joining us, we would like to introduce ourselves now. MRI is the acronym for an alliance between three groups that share a commitment to quality and ethics among scanlators. The alliance was first formed to work on Bakuman, which we have been the sole providers of for seven chapters now. We later jointly picked up the new Shōnen Jump series Magico as well, which we have been working on since its inception.

We are picking up Soul Eater today for a couple of reasons. First, ever since Mangastream dropped the series it has become woefully neglected. This is because few individual groups can commit the necessary resources to do the series justice. However, by pooling our resources MRI has found that we can perform many difficult feats with relatively little stress on each of our member groups.

Second, all three of our groups are filled with huge Soul Eater fans. This is especially true for I Eat Soul Manga, whose group was originally named after this very series. Though they have never worked on Soul Eater before, this is thus a bit of a homecoming for them.

This is a double release of chapters 84 and 85. For anyone interested in the previous chapters, note that chapters 73 through 83 were scanned by Mangastream. In accordance with their wishes, our groups will not be hosting those chapters on our online readers, though they are readily available in various places if you search.

We will be doing this series regularly from now on for as long as necessary. We have secured a private raw provider and will maintain the same dedication to quality that we bring to all our releases. Rest assured, Soul Eater fans, your series is in good hands.
